For the last few months, or at least since I posted the sale pending sign, I had been working with a potential buyer for the store. Both of us worked tirelessly on the details and all that goes into such a purchase. It really looked as if it was going to happen, all the way down to the wire this Thursday. However, those of you who have been through similar processes, know that until that final document is signed, things can change. And sadly they did.
And so, it is with great regret, much sadness, heartbreak and a huge sense of loss that I am here letting everyone know that unfortunately, the purchase fell through and is not happening.
And as sad as it is for all of us, I must recognize the fact that Beads of Marin will not be reopening and continuing serving the wonderful community/family it has been for the last 24 years.
I want to thank all of you who have held space, who have thought of the store and sent positive energies my way and continued to believe that the store will continue being there for all. And though I'm loving each moment of my retirement, I am certainly going to miss you all, at all the different levels you have been part of my my life for the last 16+ years.
I'm humbled and thankful.
That said, though all the beads are gone, the fixtures are not. If you wish to own a part of Beads of Marin, starting this Monday, starting at 10 a.m., I will be selling off through "flea market" / "garage sale" style approach the fixtures that are in the store. Available are the thousands of little votive bead holders, the various other glass display items, wall pegs on which strands were hanging, spool racks and of course the tables. And let's not forget the counter. Except for the little glasses that are boxed 100 per box, I do not have a way to help you pack up anything you purchase, so please bring your own bags.
If you need a very specific bead-related item and I can locate it among the numerous bead boxes storing things, PM me and I can see if I can help, it just depends on how accessible the item is.

With the pending sale of the store moving forward, and with a last opportunity to do so, Beads of Marin will be holding a Final Clearance sale this Thursday, July 26th and Friday, July 27th. The entire store (almost) will be discounted 50%; details are available on the store’s website. We will be open 10 – 5, possibly till 6 if there is the need to do so. Please check our Promotions page for additional information.
June 29, 2018 Update:
As promised, I am here to update everyone on what's next with Beads of Marin.
And so, I'm thrilled to say that a wonderful person approached me for the purchase of the store and we are in a "sale pending" mode. Though we are still in this pending stage, I feel really good about this and that it is happening because it needs to, especially how it's manifesting.
As this moves forward, I'm really happy for the entire community, but especially the beading one. Let's hope pending becomes sold real soon.

Dear friends, the time has come. Beads of Marin will begin the retirement liquidation sale on Wednesday, May 16th at 10 a.m. with a 35% discount off of all merchandise, and will continue through Saturday, June 16th at closing, unless of course the store sells beforehand. The usual restrictions, plus a few more, will apply. Store credit and Gift Certificate will be honored through June 16th.

After serving the Bay Area beading community for some 24 years, with 16 years under my ownership, I have decided that it is time to retire and allow myself the time to focus on other projects in my life — weaving, photography, gardening, travelling, volunteering, relaxing, and of course creating jewelry.
I want to thank all of you for the great support, hugs, cookies, coffee and wine you have all shared with us over the years, and best of all, watching the children who visit us grow up. Hoping to see our beading friends for hugs and stories before we close on Saturday, June 16th, 2018.
The store will stay open through the end of May, with the Retirement Sale information along with other details to be posted soon. Please check our website/ FaceBook page for additional information.
